Create 3D circular glossy button

In this tutorial we will learn how to make a 3D circular glossy button.

Step 1:

Create a new document (file new) with following specifications.

Width -> 400px

Height -> 400px

Background Contents -> white

Step 2:

Select “Ellipse Tool, and set color to #d8d8d7

Press and hold “Shift” key and draw a circular shape.

Step 3:

Right click and layer and select blending options. Now apply following layer styles.

Step 4:

Create a new layer (Layer -> New -> Layers). Again select “Ellipse Tool and set color to # a60000

Press and hold “shift” key and draw a circular shape over the first circular shape and of smaller size. See the image below.

Apply following layer style from blending options.

Our button will look like this.

Step 5:

Press and hold “ctrl” key and click on the layer that we created in step 4. Thus only smaller circular shape will be selected.

Select “Elliptical Marquee tool” and set to “Intersect with selection”

Draw a shape like shown in below image.

After releasing mouse you will find that only upper part is selected.

Step 6:

Create new layer, and fill the selection with #ffffff color and set;

Layer mode: Soft Light

Opacity: 80%

Fill: 80%

Our button is ready. You can change the color of button by two methods. First one is change the color of smaller circular shape in step 4. Another method is by hue/saturation.
